A 108 Megapixel sensor that can take 12 megapixel photos by simply combining 3x3 pixels and making them into one… what’s the point? Significantly less noise, more light sensitivity, and when it comes down to it 12 megapixels are more more than enough, at least for sending on a mobile phone.
